This Privacy Policy explains how ScrapeHub (“ScrapeHub”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, dashboard, and API (together, the “Service”). We keep this short and readable on purpose — if anything is unclear, reach out.

Overview

ScrapeHub provides cloud-based tools to extract publicly available structured data from websites. This policy covers personal data we process about you, our customer — for example when you create an account, top up credits, or contact support.

It does not govern the data you choose to collect using our scrapers. Your responsibilities for that data are described in Data you collect with scrapers and in our Terms of Use.

Information we collect

Account data — name, work email, company, and password (stored hashed) when you register.
Billing data — top-up amounts, credit balance, and invoices. Card details are processed by our payment provider; we never store full card numbers.
Usage data — scrapers you run, inputs, run volumes, timestamps, and logs used to operate and improve the Service.
Technical data — IP address, browser, device, and approximate location, collected for security and analytics.
Communications — messages you send us via the contact form, email, or support channels.

How we use information

To provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account.
To meter credit usage, process top-ups, and prevent fraud or abuse.
To provide support and respond to your requests.
To send service and billing notices, and — with your consent — product updates.
To analyze and improve performance, reliability, and features.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We rely on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, consent (where required), and legal obligation.

Data you collect with scrapers

When you run a scraper, the resulting data is yours. We process and store it on your behalf solely to deliver results to you, and we act as a processor for that content.

You are the controller of any personal data contained in your results and are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it.
You must comply with each source's terms, applicable scraping and data-protection laws, and not collect data you are not permitted to collect.
We do not sell, mine, or repurpose your results, and we delete stored run output according to your settings and Data retention.

Cookies & tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure the Service. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

Service providers — infrastructure, payment, proxy, and analytics vendors bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
Legal & safety — authorities where required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.

Data retention

We keep account and billing data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Run outputs are retained per your configured retention window and deleted thereafter. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Security

We apply industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of material breaches as required by law.

International transfers

We operate globally and may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses or withdraw consent.
