Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between ScrapeHub(“ScrapeHub”, “we”) and you or the entity you represent (“you”). They govern your access to and use of our website, dashboard, scrapers, and API (the “Service”).

You are responsible for what you scrape. ScrapeHub provides general-purpose tools. You must ensure every scraper run complies with the target source's terms, applicable laws, and data-protection rules. See Your compliance responsibility.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, topping up credits, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

Definitions

  • Scraper — a tool we provide to extract structured data from a defined source.
  • Run — a single execution of a scraper with your inputs.
  • Result — one structured record returned by a run.
  • Credits — the prepaid units used to pay for results, as described in our Pricing.
  • Output — the data delivered to you from your runs.

Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. One free allowance applies per customer; creating multiple accounts to multiply free credits is not permitted.

Credits, top-ups & billing

  • Prepaid model. The Service is pay-as-you-go. You top up a credit balance and spend credits as results are delivered.
  • Bonus credits. Larger top-ups may include promotional bonus credits. Bonus credits have no cash value and are non-refundable.
  • Charging. We charge only for results actually delivered. Estimated costs are shown before a run; final charges reflect actual results.
  • Expiry. Credits do not expire while your account remains active, but may be forfeited if the account is closed or terminated for breach.
  • Refunds. Unused purchased base credits may be refunded within 30 days of the top-up; bonus and consumed credits are non-refundable. Taxes are your responsibility where applicable.
  • Price changes. We may adjust credit rates or bonus tiers prospectively; changes never affect credits you already hold.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Collect data you are not legally permitted to collect, including behind authentication you don't control, or in breach of a source's terms.
  • Harvest sensitive personal data, or use Output to harass, discriminate, or harm individuals.
  • Circumvent security, overload, or disrupt any system or source.
  • Resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the Service itself.
  • Send spam, malware, or otherwise abusive content.

We may suspend runs or accounts that we reasonably believe violate this section.

Your compliance responsibility

Whether collecting public web data is permitted depends on the source, jurisdiction, and the nature of the data. You are solely responsible for determining that your use is lawful and for:

  • Reviewing and respecting each target source's terms of service and technical restrictions.
  • Having a valid legal basis for any personal data you collect, and honoring data-subject rights.
  • Securing, retaining, and deleting Output in line with applicable law.

We provide tooling, not legal advice, and do not endorse any particular use of a scraper.

Service availability

We work to keep the Service reliable but provide it on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Enterprise customers may have separate uptime commitments under a written agreement.

Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, scrapers, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service per these Terms. You own your Output and grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service and deliver results to you.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUT IS COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR LAWFUL FOR YOUR INTENDED USE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ScrapeHub WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS OR DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify ScrapeHub against claims arising from your use of the Service or Output in breach of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or to comply with law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; certain provisions (including liability, IP, and indemnity) survive.

Governing law & changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ScrapeHub is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in advance, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance.
