Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026
Last updated: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how ScrapeHub (“ScrapeHub”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website at https://scrapehub.app, our web scraping platform, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name (if provided), and a password. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form — we never store or have access to your plain-text password.
- Billing information. When you purchase credits or a subscription, payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive limited billing details such as your name, billing address, transaction history, and the last four digits of your payment card. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
- Communications. If you contact us through our contact form, email, or support channels, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including scrapers used, extraction jobs run, number of results delivered, API requests, and feature usage.
- Log data. Our servers automatically record information such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device information, referring pages, pages visited, timestamps, and error logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 7 below.
1.3 Customer Data (Data You Extract)
The Service allows you to submit URLs, search queries, configuration parameters, and other instructions to perform automated data extraction, and to receive structured results (“Customer Data”).
- You retain ownership of the inputs you submit and the results generated through your use of the Service. We do not claim any ownership rights over Customer Data.
- We process Customer Data solely to provide the requested services, maintain the security and integrity of the platform, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform reliability.
- Customer Data may be temporarily stored on our infrastructure so that you can access, review, and export your results, and is then deleted in accordance with our retention policy described in Section 5.
- We do not sell Customer Data and we do not use it for advertising purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including running extraction jobs and delivering results;
- Process payments, issue invoices, and manage billing;
- Monitor usage for metering and usage-based pricing;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Analyze usage trends to improve the Service, develop new features, and enhance reliability and performance;
- Send you service-related communications, such as account notifications, billing information, security alerts, and changes to our terms or policies;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those described above without notifying you.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you have signed up for;
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and communicate with you about the Service, where such interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws, such as tax and accounting requirements;
- Consent — where required, for example for certain analytics or marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, strictly to the extent necessary for them to provide those services. These may include:
- Payment processing (e.g., Paddle) — to process purchases and manage billing;
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers — to host the Service and store data;
- Content delivery and security services (e.g., Cloudflare) — to protect the Service and deliver content efficiently;
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) — to understand how the Service is used;
- Email delivery services — to send transactional and service emails.
All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request;
- Enforce our Terms of Use or investigate potential violations;
- Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues;
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of ScrapeHub, our users, or the public.
4.3 Business Transfers
If ScrapeHub is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
- Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Extraction results (Customer Data) are stored for 6 months from the date they are generated and are then automatically deleted. You may delete your results earlier at any time through the dashboard or API.
- Server and request logs are retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes, and are then deleted or anonymized.
- Billing records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS;
- Encryption (hashing) of passwords using industry-standard algorithms;
- Access controls that limit employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis;
- Monitoring, logging, and other safeguards designed to detect and prevent unauthorized access.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — required for authentication, session management, and security (e.g., keeping you signed in, protecting against cross-site request forgery). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it.
- Security cookies — used to detect abuse and protect the Service.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from functioning properly.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data, including by deleting your account;
- Portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
- Restriction and objection — request that we restrict processing or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
You can update most of your account information directly in your account settings. To exercise any other rights, contact us at privacy@scrapehub.app. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
If you are located in the EEA or UK and believe our processing of your data violates applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to other countries, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
10. GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA
10.1 EEA and UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

With respect to Customer Data that you extract using the Service and that may contain personal data, you act as the data controller and ScrapeHub acts as a data processor, processing such data only on your instructions and in accordance with this Policy and our Terms of Use. If you require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), please contact us at privacy@scrapehub.app.
10.2 California Users (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared (as described in this Policy); the right to access and delete your personal information; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@scrapehub.app.
11. Legal Responsibility for Use of the Service
ScrapeHub provides a technical platform for automated data extraction. Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of the Service — including the sources they target, the data they extract, and how they subsequently use that data — complies with all applicable laws, regulations, third-party website terms of service, and the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights.
We do not control, direct, or monitor the specific ways in which customers use the Service. If we become aware of use of the Service that violates applicable law or our Terms of Use, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relevant account.
